The Non-Conforming Normalist

i am a non-conforming normalist
who normally doesn't conform
to the standards of society
or its societal norms
and though i'm torn
between my preferences
and what society scorns
i'm warned that the 'between'
is where insanity is born
and a growing number of people
find themselves in the exact same situation
where their abnormalities
are magnified
and they face marginalization
and all i'm really asking
is to be accepted for me
and my off-centered, non-conforming,
normalist tendencies
